The training course Fundamentals of Technology Transfer is the answer for people recently working in the Technology Transfer field and for those who would like to set- up new offices. It emphasises on the basics of the profession, from the legal aspects to the anatomy of a licence and from evaluating opportunities to deal making.
The Strategic Marketing of Technology Transfer training course is set-up for Tech Transfer professionals who have been in post for between approximately one year and three years – long enough to have built up a portfolio of projects and to appreciate the problems of finding good licensees, but not long enough to have learned about Marketing the hard way.

Course setting
During the courses we intend to get interactive with each other in a small and informal setting. Both courses, each limited to a maximum number of 40 delegates, offer a combination of ‘ordinary’ lecturing sessions and case study exercises. Delegates will be divided into small groups to exercise in different case studies & role plays and to prepare questions for final debates. The results of all the groups will be presented and discussed, all provided with supplementary feedback of the speakers.
Besides the formal part, the course also has plenty of informal elements giving you the opportunity to meet other delegates and share knowledge. On Tuesday evening the 24th the courses will start with the registration and an introduction cocktail. On Wednesday evening the 25th we invite all delegates and speakers to join us for dinner in the inner city of Copenhagen. Thursday evening you are free to spend time in the night-life of Copenhagen! Our aim is to create an informal and pleasant atmosphere during each course, so everyone feels comfortable and enjoys it!
Course fee
The registration fee depends on whether you are a member of ASTP or not:
- Members € 945,- (excluding 19% VAT)
- Non members € 1495,- (excluding 19% VAT)
Please note that ASTP Member are offered to nominate two staff from your office (plus yourself if you want) to attend the Fundamentals of Technology Transfer Training course at our Member rate.
In case several people from the same organisation we like to participate in these training courses, we could set-up a discount for you. Please contact the Secretariat of ASTP for more information.
The three-day course includes: coffee/tea, refreshments, lunches, reception on Tuesday, social dinner on Wednesday and course materials. The fee does not include overnight accommodation. Please contact our Secretariat for hotel suggestions.
Registration
The maximum number of participants is 40 per course (based a first come, first serve basis). If you wish to sign up for the course, please complete the Registration Form (to be downloaded from the website) and send it by fax to the Secretariat of ASTP + 31 70 392 63 75. As soon as we received your registration form, a confirmation letter, an invoice and logistical details on the venue will be sent to you.
