The European Membrane Society is organizing a summer school, to be held in Toulouse, France, from 6 to 10 July 1998. The summer school will be supported by the European Commission under the specific RTD programme in the field of Industrial and Materials Technologies (BRITE-EURAM).

The aim is to disseminate information on recent advances in the fields of membrane manufacturing, characterization, and processes at European level. The focus of the course will be on the application of membrane processes in the treatment of drinking water, waste water, and industrial and municipal waters. Experts from all over Europe, including industrialists, will give presentations on their activities in this field during the course.
