NetMedia98, a conference designed to present the latest in Internet technologies and systems to media workers, will take place in London, United Kingdom, on 2 and 3 July 1998. Aimed at journalists and other media workers, it will look at fast developing fields such as computer-assisted reporting, Web marketing, digital newsroom production, Internet broadcasting and on-line design.

This event will feature a mixture of lectures and workshops, spotlighting the latest developments and covering critical issues in the world of converging media. The workshops on offer will aim to help participants see for themselves how the Internet and related interactive digital media can be used for both newsgathering and publishing news.

Other subjects to be covered will include the technical developments which can add a new dimension to publishing on the Web, and the legal aspect of publishing on the developing electronic media. The European Union's activities in the field of electronic information will be presented, in particular the INFO2000 programme which aims to develop the European multimedia content industry and stimulate the use of multimedia content in Europe.
