Effective Communication in International Teams
The purpose of communication is to get your message across to your partners. Even when you agree to use the same language, there are cultural differences that have to be considered. A basic understanding of cultural diversity is the key to effective cross-cultural communication. We should learn how to better communicate with people whose first language, does not match our own to avoid misunderstandings in international teams.
The aim of the course is to raise awareness for other cultures and communication problems in cross-cultural cooperations, and enhance your intercultural competence.
The following topics will be covered:
- Cultural images and attributions
- Cultural dimensions, values and behaviour
- Culture specific communication strategies
- Signs and non-verbal communication
- Etiquette: The tricky area of social events
- Working styles: Problem solving approaches
- Best practise: Reaching operational agreements.
The course is specifically designed for all people who take part in international cooperations or work in international teams
