Exploring advances in strategic information techniques

The Association for Global Strategic Information (AGSI) will organize its annual conference to be held in Atlanta, USA, from 16 to 18 September 1998. The aim of the conference is to enable those involved in strategic information, competitive intelligence, knowledge and information management to network and interact with other professionals in the field. The conference will address the issue of managing new technologies, tools, techniques and tactics in today's competitive intelligence and strategic information arenas.

The conference will open with two concurrent workshops, the first addressing the theme "Four forces transforming strategic intelligence" which will discuss the emergence of intelligent software, technology fusion, knowledge management and cultural changes regarding Information Technology. The second will address "Knowledge management: establishing the fundamentals", which will present the basics of knowledge management and the necessary conditions for its success.

This will be followed by a two-day conference which will address the following:

- Challenges and opportunities in the world of data;
- Adapting information strategies and competitive environments to the new knowledge environment;
- Collecting the data: information sources;
- An array of new software tools for collecting data;
- Personalizing and analyzing data;
- Visualization: the presentation of data.
