The eighth world congress on transportation research issues will be held in Antwerp, Belgium, from 12 to 17 July 1998, supported by the European Commission. The aim of the conference is to provide a forum for the presentation of the most recent scientific and practical research results in the fields of transportation, logistics and telecommunications, from industries and universities from all over the world.

The conference will focus on all aspects of transportation issues within the framework of logistics and telecommunications. Topics to be covered during the conference will fall within the following subject areas:

- Transport modes;
- Transport systems;
- Planning, operation, management and control;
- Transport modelling;
- Assessment, appraisal and scenarios;
- Spatial and environmental economics and engineering;
- Transport in developing countries;
- Transport policy: regulation, de-regulation, subvention and investment.
