FLINS'98, an international workshop on logic and technologies for nuclear science and industry will be held in Antwerp, Belgium, from 14 to 16 September 1998. The workshop will provide a forum for the presentation and discussion of new and useful techniques for nuclear science and industry.

The principles of intelligent systems and soft computing, such as fuzzy logic, neural network, genetic algorithms, knowledge-based expert systems and complex problem-solving techniques within the nuclear industry and related research fields will be discussed in detail.

The topics to be covered at the conference will include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Robotics;
- Functional modelling;
- Nuclear reactor control;
- Nuclear energy and environmental protection;
- Production processes in the fuel cycle;
- Power systems control;
- Telecommunications.
