Steinbeis-Europa-Zentrum organises a visit of biotech and pharma companies from Baden-Württemberg to Alsace

Steinbeis-Europa-Zentrum is organising a visit by biotech and pharma companies from Baden-Württemberg to the Alsace area of France on 11th of May. The visit is being organised in cooperation with ANVAR Alsace (Agence Nationale de Valorisation de la Recherche) and the Chambre Régionale du Commerce d’Alsace. The main of goal of the visit is to extend and intensify business and technological contacts between companies and research institutions from both areas. In order to reach this goal, bilateral meetings and short company presentations will be organised and visits to several companies and institutes are planned.
More then 130 companies and approximately 10,000 employees in the life science sector are situated in Alsace. Not only are a large number of small and medium sized companies located in the area including Neuro3D, CareX and Transgene, but also a number of global players such as IGBMC, Novartis, Roche, EliLilly.
On the morning of the visit, the Biotechnology Cluster “Biovalley Illkirch” will be presented and a visit to the Institute of Genetics and Molecular and Cellular Biology (IGMBC) in Illkirch will be organised. Furthermore participants will be introduced to the opportunities, aims and funding programme “EuroTransBio“, which is published by Germany’s Federal Ministries of Economics and Technology and Education and Research. This specific programme facilitates and encourages bilateral technological co-operations between France, Germany, Spain, Finland and Austria. In the afternoon participants will split into 2 groups and visit 4 companies located in the area.
