ASTP Annual Conference on 'Best Practices in Transfer of Science and Technology', 1 & 2 June 2006, Turku

The Association of European Science and Technology Transfer Professionals (ASTP) organises its Annual Conference on ‘Best Practices in Transfer of Science and Technology’ on (Wednesday the 31st of May ), on 1-2 June 2006 at the Turku Conservatory of Music and Dance, in Turku, Finland.

Plenary sessions led by expert speakers from Europe as well as the US will cover a wide range of subjects.

• Third world protection as a TTO Strategy

* An Introductory Course on Patent Strategy:
• Managing the Patent Portfolio
• Does industry differ: a business perspective of patenting

• Choosing and using your Patent Agent
• Getting the maximum 'bang-per-buck'

* Parallel sessions on Looking at TTO:
• The Finland case
• Financing your TTO operation
• Research on TTO
• How to get better Entrepreneurs?
• Educating Faculty on Technology Transfer

* And a third track on Connecting to Industry:
• Bridging the gap
• The strong link –
• Open Innovation: a sharing model
• A success story in Techtransfer
• Via venture capital to a trade sale

The event will attract around 200 people related to technology transfer from within and beyond Europe.

Preceding the conference ASTP offers an optional social program on Wednesday afternoon the 31th of May with a visit to the Turku Science Park combined with a guided tour among the highlights of Turku. This time we will board a ship and sail along the Peninsula to Pikku Pukki Island to get a taste of the beautiful Archipelago.
