Networked Society'98

A multimedia technologies convention will be held in Sophia Antipolis, France, from 13 to 15 October 1998. Organised by the French company, Novamédia, the event is sponsored by the EU's Advanced Communications Technologies and Service (ACTS) programme.

The convention is targeted at multimedia professionals and users of advanced multimedia applications. The subject areas to be covered during the plenary sessions, will include:

- Technological convergence for the emergence of services;
- The latest developments in digital audio broadcasting;
- Which technologies should be developed for the multimedia network?
- Innovative applications and experiments;
- Leveraging multimedia networking for universities, government and major companies;
- Teleworking in cooperative development of industrial software;
- Customised learning;
- Present and future of the networked society.
