Workshop: Explaining Framework Seven
EXPLAINING FRAMEWORK SEVEN
Friday 19 May 2006 - Cambridge, UK
First Calls for proposals under the EU’s Framework Seven (FP7) are expected at the end of 2006. Technical scope, participation rules and administrative procedures are all currently under discussion and negotiation between the Commission, the European Parliament and the EU Member States. The Commission’s published documents on FP7 already occupy more than 300 pages of densely worded text. While there are promises of continuity with Framework Six, the Commission’s proposals include new initiatives and changes to existing rules.
This workshop provides a structured overview of the programme. In addition to the European Commission’s proposals, it will describe the European Technology Platforms and how they are influencing the technical scope of FP7. The workshop will help delegates to understand the intricacies of the new programme and interpret the signals coming from Brussels. It is aimed at research managers and EU research funding advisors who are already familiar with FP6 and need a head start in understanding what is new in Framework Seven. The workshop will be given in English.
