Partnerships between SMEs in fish farming and aquaculture

Aqua-Partners'98, an INTERPRISE event for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the field of aquaculture and fisheries, will be held in Piraeus, Greece, on 1 and 2 October 1998. The event will be sponsored by DG XXIII within the framework of the INTERPRISE programme, which supports activities aimed at developing cooperation between European SMEs. In particular, it supports the organisation of events where representatives from SMEs can meet with their counterparts with a view to exploring possible partnerships.

The target industries for participation in the event include fish farmers, producers, and equipment suppliers to the aquaculture industry. Meetings will be set up in advance on the basis of a catalogue circulated to all participants, and individual projects and companies will be presented in parallel to the private meetings.

The event will also feature a seminar on commercial issues on the theme "Targeting new markets together" as well as technology issues in the fish farming industry.
