The European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions will hold a conference on environmental management and health and safety issues in Dublin, Ireland, on 3 and 4 December 1998. The workshop will be organised jointly with the European Foundation and the Swedish government.

The following topics will be presented during the workshop:

- Definition of the European Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) and its central concepts;
- EMAS and SMEs in practice - training and implementation;
- Company viewpoint on EMAS;
- Good practice on environmental issues and health and safety;
- Presentation of case studies;
- Round table discussion with employers, workers, researchers and public policy makers;
- Conclusions and summary of proceedings.
