The Innovation Relay Centre for the North of England will organise a seminar on new horizons in industrial and environmental sensing to be held in Durham, UK, from 30 September to 1 October 1998. The event will be targeted towards the process industry, water industry, manufacturers and developers of sensor systems.

The event will provide a forum for discussion for representatives from industry and academia on developments in, and the needs for, new sensor technologies. In particular the application of electro-analytical techniques and the development of new forms of instrumentation will be addressed. Specific topics will include:

- Development in electro-chemical analysis;
- Remote sensing;
- Commercialisation of new technologies;
- Support available to developers of new technologies and products.
