Science Marketing Practitioners' Clinic, 30-31 August 2006

TII, in collaboration with ProTon Europe and Calibre Communications, is organising an inaugural "Science Marketing Practitioners' Clinic", which will be held in Brussels on 30 and 31 August 2006.

30 August 2006 - 31 August 2006
Austria
Science marketing is a new and rapidly developing specialisation.
* Market research shows that executives in firms seeking to collaborate with universities frequently perceive a need for improved marketing and business development skills on the part of research providers.
* Authors of the 2005 European Trendchart have recommended that greater attention be given to differentiating universities and to adapting industry innovation and marketing practice to help improve the competitive position of European universities and other research and technology organisations.
* Evidence from many parts of the world suggests that success rates of technology transfer and research commercialisation activities are significantly improved when more intensive initial marketing activities are undertaken, particularly market analyses, technology benefit assessments and innovation marketing promotional campaigns.

Over two days the Science Marketing Practitioners' Clinic will allow you to learn about good practice tactics and internationally tested tools to improve your skills and enhance professional standards in strategic and operational science marketing, including specifically such aspects as market analyses, technology benefit assessments and innovation marketing promotional campaigns. In effect, thanks to the methodologies and case studies delivered you will be able to take home a marketing action plan for your organisation that really works.

The course is delivered by the award-winning and internationally recognised expert and trainer, Judy Marcure of Sydney, Australia, and will also offer participants an entertaining, interactive opportunity for experience and knowledge exchange. A full programme and on-line registration facility can be found on the TII website at http://www.tii.org/EventsUpcoming(opens in new window)
