Call for Papers: ERCIM/DECOS Workshop on “Dependable Embedded Systems”

The Dependable Embedded Systems Working Group of ERCIM will hold an ERCIM-DECOS workshop on 29 August 2006 at Euromicro 2006 in Cavtat/Dubrovnik, Croatia.

29 August 2006 - 29 August 2006

The workshop entitled “Dependability Issues of Networked Embedded Systems: Research, Industrial Experience and Education” will be held at the 32nd Euromicro Conference on Software Engineering and Advanced Applications (SEAA) and the 9th Euromicro Conference on Digital Systems Design (DSD 2006).

Embedded systems are regarded as the most important computer application field in the years to come, and a business driver for European industry - therefore they are a targeted research area for European Research Programmes in Framework 7, promoted by ARTEMIS, the “Technology Platform for Advanced Research and Technology for Embedded Intelligence”.

Suggested topics of interest include, but are not restricted to:
- Hardware/Software co-design, System-on-Chip integration
- Software processes for efficient development of dependable embedded systems
- Architectures, Methods and Tools for Design and Development of critical systems
- Interconnected, networked embedded systems
- Time triggered systems
- Functional Safety (system assessment, evaluation and standards)
- Verification, validation and certification of hardware and software, components and systems.
- Use/integration of COTS hardware and/or software as well as of legacy systems.

The deadline for receiving position papers (6 to 8 pages) is 14 August 2006.
The presenting author(s) must pre-register at least for the workshop before August 20th.
