European rotorcraft forum

The 24th European rotorcraft forum will be held in Marseille, France, from 15 to 17 September 1998. The event, an annual meeting of specialists in the rotorcraft industry, will be supported within the framework of the EU's Industrial Materials and Technologies research programme (BRITE-EURAM), and will be organised by the Association Aéronautique et Astronautique de France.

A wide range of topics of interest to the rotorcraft industry will be presented during the event by an international range of representatives from research, academia and industry, covering dynamics, aerodynamics as well as operational and design issues. Specific topics to be presented will include:

- Application of neural networks to mechanical problems;
- A study of helicopter tail rotor interaction;
- Challenges at the helicopter ship interface;
- Designing and developing an advanced light helicopter;
- New developments in vibration reduction;
- Monitoring fault diagnostic assistance;
- Damage tolerance applied on metallic components;
- Dynamics of helicopter ground motion.
