Mycotoxins and phycotoxins
Discussions during the conference will investigate toxins produced by fungi and algae that threaten public health or the health of living resources through water, air or food products. Presentations will cover:
- Structural and analytical toxin chemistry;
- Toxin biochemistry and mechanisms of actions;
- Genetics and growth of causative organisms;
- Toxicology and epidemiology.
In addition, issues such as new and emerging toxin threats and impacts on agriculture and fisheries, the medical implications of intoxication, as well as detection methodologies and control and prevention strategies will also be discussed.
