EUROMAT - Training in fisheries in Europe

A conference on training in fisheries in Europe will take place in Sesimbra, Portugal, on 24 and 25 September 1998. The event is organised by the EUROMAT project, funded within the EU's Leonardo da Vinci vocational training action programme.

The event aims to provide a forum for exchange of experience and best practice in fisheries training in Europe. Four main sessions will discuss the following topics:

- Challenges and strategies for the fishing industry;
- Quality in fisheries;
- Training for the future;
- Market trends and the importance of meeting customers' requirements.
