IST 2006: building leadership in new technologies and innovation in Europe

For European leadership in strategic ICT research, researchers, policy-makers and industrialists will meet at IST 2006 and discuss how best to drive ICT research and the take-up of research results throughout the European economy. The European Union's new funding plans for ICT research for 2007-2013 will be unveiled.
IST 2006 offers three strands:
-High-level conference on: the role of public policy in promoting ICT research and deployment - essential to boosting Europe's competitiveness. The EU's new Seventh Framework Programme for Research and Development, will be presented. Learn about the EU's new research priorities in ICT and how to participate in EU-funded ICT research.
- showcase exhibition of the latest cutting-edge research results; viisitors can interact with the latest technological prototypes and learn more from the people behind the research. 150 exhibits from countries all over Europe and beyond will be on display;
- in-depth technical and scientific networking sessions and workshops.
