2 December 1998 - 2 December 1998
Australia
The third international open learning conference will be held in Brisbane, Australia, from 2 to 4 December 1998. The conference, organised by the Queensland Open Learning Network, will provide an opportunity for those involved in open, distance and flexible learning from over 20 countries to come together to discuss issues of concern, and to develop networks for education and training at a global level.

The conference will present a series of topics which have been divided into three subject streams. The first will cover issues related to technology and resource-based learning, exploring the advancement of on-line learning and related support strategies currently being developed. The second stream will examine the new learning environment and will look at issues related to teacher/learner support with a third stream examining life-long learning. In addition, a pre-conference workshop will examine the issue of self-instructional material for open, distance and flexible learning.
