Innovation fair

Innovation'98, the sixth innovation fair to be held in Leipzig, Germany, will take place from 3 to 6 November 1998. The aim of the event is to provide a forum for dialogue between managers, scientists and researchers with the aim of encouraging new partnerships to exploit the results of research projects and to open up new market potential.

Key features of this year's event will include a "Founders and innovation" risk capital and equity exchange event. This will provide active support in finding capital by bringing businesses and entrepreneurs together with providers of new capital. In addition, an information event on the "The Fifth Framework Programme - competitiveness and jobs through innovation" will be organised by the European Commission Representation in Germany, the regional Ministry for Economy and Business, and the Innovation Relay Centre, Saxony.

Special presentations on photo-electricity and renewable raw materials will present the latest research results, technological trends and developments in this field, and discuss the market potential of new products and related market strategies.

The main event will be divided into six areas of technology:

- Biotechnology and environmental technology;
- Automation;
- New materials;
- Micro-systems technology;
- Information and communications technologies;
- Technical and management services.

The Saxony Innovation Relay Centre will also present the IRC network at an exhibition stand and will feature selected innovative products and technologies to be presented as success stories.
