The third ICCC/IFIP conference on electronic publishing will be held in Ronneby, Sweden, from 10 to 12 May 1999. The event will be organised by the International Council for Computer Communications (ICCC) and the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP).

The theme of the 1999 conference will be "Redefining the information chain: new ways and voices" and the conference organisers are currently seeking papers on the technical, human and economic aspects of electronic publishing. The topics of the conference will be divided into two tracks, the first of which will concentrate on technical issues and the second on case studies and the presentation of projects.

In addition, two panel debates are planned on the themes of:

- Electronic publishing in the service of democracy;
- Electronic publishing in the year 2000 - a global perspective.
