Within the framework of the Leonardo da Vinci programme, the European Commission, DG XXII, is organising a dissemination and exchange market focused on vocational training. Organised in a workshop format, the event will be held in Brussels, Belgium, on 3 and 4 December 1998. Training 2000 aims to bring together both ongoing and completed Leonardo da Vinci projects, their target audiences (enterprise managers, training institutes, research centres, universities, professional and sectoral networks, social partners, policy-makers, etc.) as well as "dissemination agents" (publishers, broadcasters, etc.).

Training 2000 will be the first pan-European event on vocational training where project partners will be available to discuss and demonstrate their work in progress. Visitors will have the opportunity to sample training products such as books, CD-ROMs, videos, and Websites. This will offer them an outlook on the future of training: new skills for new jobs, new technologies for new learning and new methodologies for the information age.

In parallel, three workshops will address the themes of "intellectual property rights and copyright", "negotiating with publishers", and "vocational education and training - broadcasting opportunities and approaches".

A database of all the projects undertaken within the Leonardo programme will be available for use by visitors. They will also have the opportunity to meet with European Commission officials and national experts to obtain advice and information on training now and in the future.
