Technical Aids for Rehabilitation – European Symposium

The first European Symposium Technical Aids for Rehabilitation (TAR) focuses on Mechatronics and Robotics, extracorporeal and intracorporeal sensors, Human-Computer-Interface and Sensor-Actor-Systems for rehabilitation of handicapped people.

25 January 2007 - 26 January 2007
Germany
Reintegrating people in their professional, social or family environment after an accident or a serious disease poses a growing social challenge, especially against the background of the process of demographic change in Europe. However, the developments in the fields of sensor technology, mechatronics, information technology and robotics offer possibilities to significantly reduce the demand of personnel which is particularly high in some phases of rehabilitation, while at the same time further optimising the outcome of treatment. Technical innovations in the fields of aid and endoprothetics also seem to be extremely promising. The TAR 2007 conference in Berlin - the “Health City” - will bring together international experts from industry, medical technology andengineering for interdisciplinary discussions of recent developments in rehabilitation
technology and for identifying strategies to overcome obstacles.
