UKRO FP7 Proposal Writing for Marie Curie Fellowships

UKRO is pleased to announce that registration to the "FP7 Proposal Writing for Marie Curie Fellowships" training events is now open

5 February 2007 - 9 February 2007
Austria
In our capacity as National Contact Point (NCP) for the European Commission's Marie Curie Fellowships and in collaboration with various partners, UKRO is organising a series of information and proposal writing sessions. These will outline the aims of the different Marie Curie Actions and will also focus on proposal writing for the different Marie Curie Actions.

Aim of proposal writing sessions:
The aim of each session is to provide participants with a deeper understanding of the FP7 Marie Curie Actions, the proposal format and key issues they are required to address in planning and writing their proposal. There will be two different types of session: one focusing on the individual fellowships (individual actions) and one focusing on opportunities for research groups (host actions).

Who should attend?
The session will be of particular interest to UK-based researchers who are interested in and/or are planning to submit a proposal for one of the forthcoming deadlines: Marie Curie Intra-European Fellowships, Incoming International Fellowships, Outgoing International Fellowships, Initial Training Networks (ITN) and Industry-Academia Partnerships and Pathways (IAPP)

Attendance is free thanks to support from the hosting organisations and the UK Research Office.

Where and when?
If you are interested in the ITNs or the IAPPs, you are invited to attend one of the following proposal writing events:

- Newcastle University, Monday 5th February 2007 (morning session)
- Advantage West Midlands, Wednesday 7th February 2007 (morning session)
- University of Manchester, Thursday 8th February 2007 (morning session)

Programme outline

Each session will provide an outline of the Marie Curie Actions, the application form and guidance on planning and writing your Marie Curie proposals.

The session will be presented by UKRO in its capacity as UK NCP for the Marie Curie actions in FP7, drawing on experience gained from years of involvement with the Marie Curie actions in the Framework Programme. The role of the NCP is to promote participation in the Marie Curie Actions, and to provide guidance to participants and potential participants. We will endeavour to respond to specific areas of interest identified by participants in the on-line registration form.
