EUROCET workshop on organ, tissue and cell donation and transplantation activities in Europe

The Eurocet project is organising a one-day workshop on 7th February to disseminate project results related to organ, tissue and cell donation and transplantation activities in Europe.

7 February 2007 - 7 February 2007
Austria
EUROCET is establishing a common registry for the collection of data on organ, tissue and cell donation and transplantation activities across multiple Member States. The online registry helps medical professionals improve patient care while also bringing about common standards within different regulatory and cultural environments.

In order to disseminate the project results, a one day workshop will be organized for widespreading project outcomes and perspectives.

The event will be kindly hosted by the European Parliament and held in Brussels on 7 February (Paul Henri Spak Building – PHS7C005 Rue Wiertz, 60, Brussels), during which, the EUROCET project and portal will be presented and its potentials will be discussed. It is expected to be an inter-exchange place for the organizations working in the transplant sector and European Institutions. Moreover, the portal should also be the means to inform citizens, providing them the knowledge tools to fully understand all issues related to the transplantation process.
The workshop will therefore address the different actors in the field that could be interested in getting acquainted with the results of the Eurocet project. The first part of the workshop will be dedicated to the presentation of the different aspects of the project, in this part special attention will be dedicated to the features of the portal. The second part “Impact of the project for major stakeholders” will be devoted to the portal as a practical tool for citizens and for experts in the field. The last part of the workshop will focus on more European issues related to transplant.

The event is free of charge (on a first come, first serve basis) and further information regarding agenda and registration came be obtained from the project coordinator "Italian National Transplant Centre" by sending an email to paola.diciaccio@iss.it
