Nanotechnology policy meeting for industry on 14th March Brussels

The European Nanotechnology Trade Alliance will hold a second nanotechnology policy for industry meeting on the 14th of March in Brussels.

At our meeting last November we discussed a variety of issues facing Industry and it was noted that priorities for industry are:

1. Risk assessment and protocols for industry

2. Environmental, health, life cycle analysis and safety issues



Taking this into account we have arranged for:

Renzo Tomellini from the European Commission (DG Research) to attend to discuss FP7

Thomas Epprecht from Swiss Re to discuss requirements for risk assessment/management from an insurance perspective, including some respective policy aspects

Prof Josè Kenny from the University of Perugia to discuss Life Cycle Analysis with particular attention to its application to polymers, composites and nanocomposites including case studies related to different industrial sectors.

Paul Borm from Magna Medics to discuss Tox testing strategies for nanoparticles for life science applications

Paul Arnoldus from the European Commission’s REACH team will provide and update
