Course on Advanced International Project Management

Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe's training centre (FTU) offers a training course on Advanced International Project Management in cooperation with EARMA, the European Association of Research Managers and Administrators. The event will take place in Brussels on 19– 20 April 2007.

International project and program management is a core skill in today’s fast moving research and business environment. The demanding and intense two-day workshop Advanced International Project Management combines all tools and techniques into realistic and participant’s oriented simulations. The emphasis is on project management in a changing world and on appropriate project structures. The methodological focus is on individual and group work, discussions and case studies. Participants will be prepared to meet time, budget and performance objectives.

The aim of the course is to learn how to apply project management tools in different phases of an international project.

The following topics will be covered:
• Project management in a changing world
• Building a project team
• Project environment
• Planning & getting started
• Project rules & structures
• Dynamics of accurate estimating
• Running a project on a day-to-day basis
• Monitoring and controlling the project
• Solving problems & emergency actions
• End of project

The course is designed for research managers, administrators, scientists and engineers in charge of projects in research institutions, universities, public organisations, and private industry companies.

Course fee: 845 EUR. Non-EARMA members will be charged an additional EARMA Individual Membership fee of 150 EUR along with the course fee (total 995 EUR).
