Connecting Researchers in Southeast Europe

SEE-ERA.NET organizes 3 international scientific workshops

By invitation from their ministries, around 150 researchers from 14 European countries met at scientific workshops for three days of information gathering and intensive networking. The topics and locations of the events were:

- Food, Agriculture and Biotechnology: Ohrid, FYRo Macedonia
- Environmental Technologies: Pržno, Montenegro and Dubrovnik, Croatia
- Information and Communication Technologies: Belgrade, Serbia

The scientific workshops were an accompanying measure to the SEE-ERA.NET Pilot Joint Call, which aims at creating networks of researchers from the region of the Western Balkan countries, Southeast Europe and the European Research Area.

The call will be open until March 31, 2007.

Applications can be made in the three topics mentioned above, and the eligible countries are:
Albania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia and Slovenia.

This initiative is part of the Southeast European Era-Net (SEE-ERA.NET) a project financed by the European Commission. The main objective of this project is to explore and exploit synergies among bilateral Science & Technology agreements of the partner countries.
