COST workshop on digital audio effects

The first COST G6 workshop on digital audio effects (DAFX98) will be held in Barcelona, Spain, from 19 to 21 November 1998. The workshop will be sponsored within the framework of the G6 action of the programme for European cooperation in the field of scientific and technical research (COST), and will be organised by the Audiovisual Institute of the Pompeu Fabra University of Barcelona.

The workshop will bring together researchers interested in the theory and practice of digital processing techniques for the transformation of sounds in music and audio applications. It will consist of tutorials and presentations, with the aim of providing an overview of developments in the field as well as stimulating an in-depth discussion of current research.

Topics to be covered during the conference will include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Filters and modulation;
- Delay lines and non-linear processing;
- Time/frequency scaling;
- Spatialisation and spectral processing;
- Audio coding;
- Hardware and software implementation.
