"Citizenship, Identity and Immigration in the European Union" Conference

The Conference "Citizenship, Identity and Immigration in the European Union" organized by the Agency for the Promotion of European Research (APRE), in cooperation with the European Commission - DG Research, will take place on 27th and 28th March 2007 at the Italian Research Council headquarters (Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche, address: Piazzale Aldo Moro 5, Rome).

The aim of the Conference is to improve dialogue between researchers, policy-makers, NGOs and citizens on research results financed by the European Commission-DG Research under the theme “Citizenship, Identity and Immigration”. This is to contribute towards the wider aim of improving evidence based policy making in the immigration field.

This Conference is part of a cycle of five European Conferences taking place in 5 different European capitals about 5 different themes of the Citizens and Governance Priority in FP6, organized under the project Think&Act (http://www.thinkandact.eu(opens in new window)).

Think&Act is a project co-funded by the European Commission’s 6th Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development. The overall objective of the project is to improve the coordination between Research results in the Social Sciences and Policy Making at local, national and European level.

The Rome conference will be bilingual (Italian and English). An interpreting service will be available for the full duration.
