The thirteenth international forum for plastic card technologies and applications will be held in Paris, France, from 27 to 29 October 1998. The event will comprise a conference and exhibition for a wide range of managers and executives from sectors such as finance, engineering, security and transport.

The exhibition will present the latest technologies in plastic cards and will present a broad range of sectors covering a wide range of applications:

- Card manufacturers;
- Systems engineering and services;
- Manufacturers of electronic components;
- Terminals, automation, readers and specialised equipment;
- Network operators, telephony and mobile telephony;
- Physical and software security systems;
- Identification systems.

A series of workshops will also be held during the conference addressing topics such as:

- Software in smart cards: a new generation in applications;
- Multi-application and contactless card development methodology and tools;
- Using smart cards to make the Internet and Intranet secure;
- Challenges facing an organisation in issuing and multi-application smart cards;
- How to implement a solution in Java;
- How to integrate a contactless memory solution;
- Multi-application and contactless card development methodology and tools.
