LINKS98, an international conference on the use of information technology within the educational system will be held in Stockholm, Sweden, from 26 to 28 October 1998. The conference will bring together a large number of prominent researchers in the field who will present their work in lectures and workshops. An exhibition of successful projects will also be open throughout the conference.

The organisers seek to establish a recurring international meeting place to discuss the potential of information technology in education. The aim is to provide a annual forum where researchers, teachers and administrators in education can exchange information and ideas.

The conference will comprise a series of lectures and debates, conceptual seminars reflecting the latest developments in information technology and workshops inviting participants to explore practical solutions. The main themes of the conference are:

- The process of learning;
- The creative tool;
- Organisation and resources;
- Open and flexible learning;
- Society and culture;
- Research and practical examples.
