The sixth European conference on analysis and review of software testing will be held in Munich, Germany, from 30 November to 4 December 1998. The conference is targeted at developers, managers and testers, and will provide five intensive days of training and professional development to help participants understand testing and how to improve it within their organisations.

A series of plenary and parallel sessions, as well as tutorials will address a wide range of issues related to the effective integration and management of testing within the software process. Examples of the topics to be covered during the plenary sessions of the conference will include:

- Testing and inspections: a historical perspective;
- Automated testing: past, present and future;
- Measuring the quality of testing;
- Critical issues in software quality and testing;
- Year 2000 testing experiences.

Tutorials will address issues such as:

- Generating test cases for integration and systems testing;
- Year 2000 testing, tools and techniques;
- Automating software testing;
- The basics of good test management;
- Quality assurance for testing processes.
