Researching forest fire
The event will bring together scientists from Europe and other parts of the world working on various aspects of forest fires to present the results of scientific research and to discuss various methodologies with the aim of increasing international cooperation in this field.
The following topics will be covered in detail during the plenary and parallel sessions of the conference:
- Human and institutional aspects;
- Fire prevention, fire risk and fire weather;
- Fire behaviour, modelling and prevention;
- The ecological effects and physical aspects of forest fires.
In tandem with the conference, there will be a short course on fire behaviour modelling as well as a meeting of the European Association of Remote Sensing Laboratories (EARSeL) special interest group on forest fires, on the 21 and 22 November 1998.
