TEHRE'98, the third international conference on electronic health records will be held in London, United Kingdom, from 15 to 18 November 1998. The aim of the event is to discuss issues related to the provision of the best electronic health record system, drawing on an international range of experience and expertise.

The conference will enable participants to keep up to date with the latest developments in electronic health records and to gain an insight into advances taking place in other parts of the world. It will aim to provide an insight into relevant changes for the European Health Service and give a practical understanding of what can be achieved.

A series of tutorials during the conference will address the following questions:

- How to use an Intranet to build an electronic health record;
- Understanding and applying HL7;
- Adapting managed care products and services to a global environment: Trends, strategies and opportunities;
- The electronic healthcare record and its architecture.

In addition, an exhibition will be open in parallel to the conference featuring the latest technologies and services in electronic health records.
