An industrial symposium, organised by the World Innovation Forum, will be held in Paris, France, from 16 to 19 November 1998. This forms parts of a series of meetings between rapid growth technological companies and the financial world. This particular meeting will focus on the information technology, biotechnology and service sectors.

The event will comprise a series of keynote presentations from representatives of international organisations including the European Commission, DG III, on the key factors for innovation and business creation. Topics to be presented will include:

- Scientific prospective and key technologies;
- Business strategy and major research organisations and their participation in the innovation process;
- Organisational and accompanying technology;
- Roles and responsibilities of the academic world and related innovation challenges;
- Innovation, growth and employment: the major trends and contributing "key factors" of public policies;
- Main regional and technological areas of international cooperation.

In addition, a programme of international meetings will be organised between those with business creation projects and financiers from all over the world working in risk and development capital.
