Neurodegenerative diseases and neurotrauma represent one of the greatest clinical and societal challenges of this century.

NeuroNE is Europe’s premiere research network for the creation of novel therapeutic approaches to neurodegenerative disease and neurotrauma.
The consortium brings together Europe’s leading scientists from different backgrounds (academic scientists, active clinicians and therapeutically-oriented SMEs, patient groups) to work together at all levels on the target diseases (Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. Spinal cord injury is the main model for neurotrauma).
The consortium is developing new forms of treatment for the acute and chronic condition affecting the brain and spinal cord. Their discoveries will slow down or prevent neuronal degeneration, and find ways to repair the damage that has occurred.
