The next meeting of the European Forum for Implementers of Library Applications (EFILA) will be held in Rome, Italy, on 24 November 1998. The theme for this meeting will be how to plan and establish technical infrastructures for library cooperation. The purpose of the meeting is to present some of the projects and national initiatives for library cooperation and to discuss and share experiences. A number of national projects will be presented in the morning of the meeting and national initiatives from Italy, France and Denmark will be presented in the afternoon. The event will also feature a presentation from a representative of the European Commission, DG XIII.
The specific projects and initiatives to be presented include:
- The ERCIM Technical Reference Digital Library;
- The CASA project for a cooperative archive of serials and articles;
- The PRIDE project on people and resources identification for distributed environments;
- The CIME project to expand the use of on-line information services in Europe;
- ILL implementation guidelines;
- The SBN Union catalogue projects ;
- The electronic research library of Denmark;
- The French Union catalogue.
