XML Europe'99

XML Europe'99, the annual event of the Graphic Communications Association (GCA), will be held in Granada, Spain, from 26 to 30 April 1999. The aim of the event is to provide an overview of applications, trends and technologies that support the use of Extensible Markup Language (XML) and the Standard Generalised Markup Language (SGML). The conference will focus on both the management decisions and technological choices facing corporate and commercial publishers in an era of increased competition.

The conference organisers are currently seeking the submission of abstracts for presentation during the conference in the following sessions:

- Management level sessions addressing topics such as planning systems, technology overview, building convincing business cases, intellectual property rights and changing management issues;
- Case studies presenting an overview of the planning and implementation of systems already in place in organisations;
- Current and emerging core technologies;
- Application technologies: where technology meets business requirements;
- Investigating the move from electronic data interchange to electronic commerce;
- Graphics.

The conference will also feature a management briefing track, designed for corporate and commercial publishing managers and a user and technical expert track, covering the various aspects of the production life cycle and the underlying technologies supporting the process.
