Chambers of electronic commerce

A workshop presenting the DEMARCHE project of the EU's ESPRIT RTD Information Technologies programme will be held in Brussels, Belgium, on 30 November 1998. The project, which started in January 1998, aims at enhancing the capabilities of the European network of national chambers of commerce to promote the effective use of electronic commerce by business.

The workshop will present the main results of the DEMARCHE project presented by the five lead projects, as well as a summary of other innovative actions undertaken:

- Netprise (the Italian and German Chambers of Commerce);
- Barcelona Chamber of Commerce;
- Stockholm Chamber of Commerce;
- MediaMit (German Chambers of Commerce);
- South-east Hampshire Chamber of Commerce.

The workshop will conclude with a presentation of the way forward, comprising actions planned by Eurochambres, the development of new services and projects in electronic commerce, and the financing of electronic services.
