The 6th annual European Patent Office (EPO) Online Services Conference will take place on 13-14 November 2007 in Como, Italy.

The theme of this year’s conference is “End to End Electronic Processing: How to survive when the EPO no longer accepts paper”. This challenging topic, which will affect all players in the IP world, will no doubt lead to some lively and interesting debates and presentations.

In addition to the plenary sessions, the conference programme includes two parallel streams of workshops and seminars which will allow you to select a programme to match your personal interests and needs.

Stream I offers hands-on workshops on the EPO's and national offices' online services, including Online Filing, Online Fee Payment and Online Patent Information Services (including Register Plus and esp@cenet).

Stream II comprises a series of seminars chaired by specialists from the EPO, the national offices and industry, as well as patent attorneys from all over Europe. Topics include end-to-end electronic processing, the formalities governing the patent granting procedure, and the implications of EPC 2000.

The conference will be of particular interest to patent applicants, patent lawyers and their administrative staff and others involved in the protection of intellectual property rights.

It is the executive arm of the European Patent Organisation, an intergovernmental body set up under the EPC, whose members are the EPC contracting states.
