Multimedia applications, services and techniques

ECMAST'99, the fourth European conference on multimedia applications, services and techniques, will be held in Madrid, Spain, from 26 to 28 May 1999. The event will be sponsored by the European Commission within the Advanced Communications Technologies and Services (ACTS) programme and the European cooperation programme in the field of scientific and technical research (COST).

The overall aim of the event is to disseminate the results of research and development projects on multimedia issues and related activities being carried out in Europe and elsewhere. The conference will be the first worldwide forum on the new multimedia era of technologies, services and applications which will present the global results of the Fourth RTD Framework Programme.

The conference organisers are currently seeking the submission of papers for presentation during the conference. Topics include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Multimedia trials and services;
- New access technologies/infrastructures for multimedia services;
- Applications of mobile agents technology;
- Next generation Internet: services and protocols;
- Coded representation of images, sound and data;
- Multimedia servers and storage architecture;
- Advanced satellite multimedia terminals;
- User mobility and multimedia terminals;
- IP and ATM networks integration;
- Standards and specifications;
- Multimedia infrastructures.
