RTD in the materials sector

AGIL'99, the second international conference of the Israeli Materials Union, will be held in Ramat-Gan, Israel, on 25 and 26 November 1998. The conference will bring together a wide range of Israeli industries in the field of materials research, science and technology and will be supported by the Ministry of Science and the Israeli EU RTD Contact Centre (ISERD).

The conference will cover all aspects of material science and technology, and the latest developments will be presented by a wide range of Israeli and international scientists. The results of support projects will also be introduced. A key feature of the event will be the presentation of the upcoming Fifth RTD Framework Programme by ISERD.

Topics to be presented during the plenary sessions of the conference will include:

- Nucleation and growth of metals by CVD for microelectronic interconnect applications;
- Nanomaterials for device applications;
- Application of high temperature super conductors;
- Structural, electronic and dynamic properties of semiconductor nanoclusters;
- Polymers and hydrogels for medicine.
