Brieifng session on the 'Science with Africa' initiative
The briefing session aims to gather stakeholders of scientific cooperation between Africa and France. Research centres, ministries and embassies will be represented in order for them to exchange and explore together how to facilitate scientific cooperation between France and Africa and how to increase involvement in “Science with Africa”.
The event aims to contribute to the global debate around mechanism and tools that improve access of African based institutions to international collaborative R&D projects and to inform on new science diplomacy within Africa as well as with international partners. These issues are the central objectives of the “Science with Africa” conference that the UN Economic Commission for Africa, in collaboration with ISC – Intelligence in Science, will host in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from 3-7 March 2008.
