EKAW'99, the eleventh international conference on knowledge acquisition, modelling and management, will be held in Karlsruhe, Germany, from 26 to 29 May 1999. The event will provide a platform for discussion on all aspects of eliciting, acquiring, modelling and managing knowledge and their role in the construction of knowledge intensive systems.

The topics to be discussed in detail during the conference will include:

- Languages and frameworks for knowledge acquisition, modelling and management;
- Tools and techniques for knowledge acquisition, modelling and management;
- Acquiring knowledge through machine learning, data mining and knowledge discovery in databases;
