FP7 agro-food and biotechnology seminar

Unioncamere Piemonte, together with the Chamber of Commerce of Cuneo province and APRE (the national Agency Promoting European Research), is organizing on the 21st of January 2008 a seminar to present the FP7 agro-food and biotechnology priority.

21 January 2008 - 21 January 2008
Italy
The seminar represents a unique opportunity for regional actors to meet together and to discuss on how to boost the participation to the EU funded projects; how to involve the right partners, research labs as well as industries; how to develop synergies with national and regional funds and how to innovate in the agro-food sector.

Agro-food and biotechnologies will be analyzed under a double angle: on the one side the focus will cover the research activities and the opportunities opened by the European Framework Programme (FP7), on the other side the discussion will move towards innovation and capitalization of RTD results.

Speakers will introduce the FP7 rules of participation and the evaluation criteria and some advices to write a successful proposal as well the regional system supporting research and innovation. The round table will give the floor to the representatives from universities, research centers, SMEs and technological transfer operators to end up with some comments from APRE and from the National Contact Point (NCP).

In Piedmont agro-food and biotechnologies are strategic sectors and Cuneo province is hosting top class industries and research centers, whose experiences and expertise will be presented during the seminar. Furthermore, agro-food and biotechnologies are key priorities for the economic development of the region and of the Cuneo’s area in primis. The recently adopted regional law in support of RTD has devoted several million euros to reinforce the Piedmont research capabilities, selecting a short list of priorities which includes the agro-food and biotechnology one.

The seminar has been conceived by the regional association of Chambers of commerce (Unioncamere Piemonte) as a plug of a wider plan of communication and information, whose main objective is bringing European research and the opportunities to be protagonist into closer to the citizens and to the end users in the region.
