Computational methods in contact mechanics
The purpose of the event is to promote international cooperation between scientists and engineers involved in the study of computational methods for contact problems. These problems are complex and inherently non-linear due to the moving boundary and the existence of friction along contact surfaces. Until recently, researchers were engaged only in the fundamental concepts of contact problems, however due to great improvements in computer technology and computational methods, it is possible to solve many complex practical problems accurately and efficiently.
A wide range of topics will be presented during the conference under the following session headings:
- Mechanical models;
- Numerical aspects;
- Engineering applications;
- Mathematical models.
