16th European Biomass Conference & Exhibition. From Research to Industry and Markets.

Bioenergy Experts from all over the World meet in Valencia from 2 to 6 June 2008

2 June 2008 - 6 June 2008
Austria
Next June, the European Biomass Conference & Exhibition will be taking place for the 16th edition. The Conference & Exhibition, which is supported by the European Commission, the Spanish Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Commerce, the Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving (IDAE), Valencia Agency for Energy (AVEN), Regional Government of Valencia (Generalitat Valenciana), the World Council for Renewable Energy (WCRE), the European Biomass Industry Association (EUBIA) and the Sustainable Energy Europe Campaign 2005-2008 (SEE).

During these five days, scientists, industry, suppliers, funding bodies and decision-makers are invited to meet, discuss and promote the awareness of the biomass community. After the decision of the EU Council of Ministers in January 2007 to increase the share of renewable energies, biomass utilisation has to be seen in a new light: it is one of the few options which can provide a substantial part of this share in the near future. It is universal in its use, ranging from biofuel for mobile applications to heat and electricity in the stationary sector.

The international Programme Committee made up of representatives from research, industry and politics put together an excellent program of around 1.000 plenary, oral and visual presentations. Parallel to the Conference is the international biomass and bioenergy exhibition, an opportunity to make business contacts, inform about state-of-the-art technologies for new marketing strategies, cultivate business relations for innovative activities and prepare for the increasing growth of the biomass market. On Thursday 5th June 2008, a Conference of Biomass in Spain will be held by IDAE in Spanish language.

“The main reference for the world’s leading Biomass experts” says Prof. Dr. Jürgen Schmid, the Conference Chairman, Chairman of the Executive Board of ISET and Council Member of the WBGU (Advisory Council on Global Change to the German Government), describing the importance and positioning of the Conference and Exhibition.

The programme per day is published. The registration for the conference and technical tours is open for this world class event which will be the platform to bring together decision-makers and key persons from industry, suppliers, applicants, government organisations, investment companies and financial world.
